We’ve got our first community-led housing site!

We're delighted to announce that we’ve just been allocated a council site for a partnership delivery of five eco homes in Bristol. Our proposed collaboration with Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust (LNT) and SNUG Homes to build the affordable self-finish development in Turner Gardens, Lockleaze, has just moved a significant step closer to reality.

Bristol City Council has announced its decision to sell the former garage site in Turner Gardens to LNT, through its Community Led Housing Land Disposal Policy.

Our shared vision for the site includes a mix of shared equity and affordable rental properties, designed and built to very high ecological standards, and including an element of self-build. The future residents will be supported to carry out the finishing works on their homes as a team, which will help them learn new skills as well as creating a feeling of neighbourliness on the site even before they move in.

LNT will own the freehold of the site and homes, while SNUG Homes will supply the modular homes, to be built using a local workforce. Ecomotive's role will include training and supporting the residents in the self-finish process.

It's super exciting to get the go-ahead. We'll keep you posted. See the formal announcement here: https://democracy.bristol.gov.uk/ieDecisionDetails.aspx…
