Ecomotive has been funding through Power to Change to develop and set up a Hub across the West of England (South Gloucestershire, Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset and Bristol), in collaboration with our partners from Bristol CLT, Knowle West Media Centre and Vivid Regeneration, to help make more brilliant people-led housing projects happen in and around the city.
We have been engaging in research and consultation over the last year, as our first steps have been to hear your views on what is needed to support more community-involved housing across the area!
Whether you are an interested individual or someone who represents an existing or developing community housing group across the West of England, please get in touch if you are planning a project.
We are currently exploring the best route to enable the support that is needed to happen. We are pleased to say that a number of development areas are in process due to the ambition to establish a hub.
The first of these is development of a partnership arrangement between Bristol and Bath Regional Capital (BBRC), Bristol City Council and the Hub to provide a three pronged support package involving finance, land and guidance. The second area is support with a Bristol City Council proposal to establish an off-site manufacturing centre, where the hub will provide a core work area connecting community housing projects to the off-site production centre and to the small business that are associated to it.
We are planning a series of outreach events, so please register with us if you would like to be kept in the loop.
