I could see the sense in using sustainable wood for some home use. A while ago I came across Geopolymer concrete, an approach which apparently produces more eco-friendly concrete via an old method of ingrediants. http://www.geopolymer.org
I'm not a particular fan of plastics in a home (Some smell awful!), or some of the glues used in chipboard.
